Caput Algol

For centuries, various humans on Earth have heard about a catastrophe on Caput 1, an astral planet orbiting Caput Algol (positioned in the closest orbit to that star, which is why I’m labeling it with a “1”). Aliens from Caput 1 were telling them. As a result, the star Caput Algol has been a point of intrigue and sometimes concern. What happened?

Aliens existed on Caput 1 in the past, but they evolved to have a strange characteristic of existing outside of time in a way such that their extinction is mostly a technical point in some senses. From our Earth perspective, they still talk to us. In other ways, the Caputs from Caput 1 periodically wonder if they’re going to die from some period in the past, and their understanding of a time of doom is often the subject of their conversation. That doom has changed planet Caput 1.

Caput 1 was war torn. The Caputs had a lot of quarrels. There was a particular villain among the Caputs that wanted to annihilate life on the planet, which eventually happened, to an astonishing point, and sadly there are now no Caputs on Caput 1.

The Caputs of old manifested all the way down to astral density, were sentient, and were beautiful and light green. They evolved to be aligned Neutral Neutral/”True Neutral” (Neutral in Neutral Neutral meaning morally decent or better, depending on what fits their situation best, but never evil, and of course never choosing evil nor siding with evil). Their fate is mysterious to humans.

Some of Caput 1’s beautiful astral animals survived, and have sentience and lives, but none of the astral plants survived. They used to share an alignment with the Caputs, but are now Neutral Good (Good in Neutral Good meaning always proactively striving for good objectives and good actions).

Caput Algol is a trinary star system that’s part of Earth’s constellation named for the Greek hero Perseus. Caput Algol represents Medusa’s head. Caput Algol is the Behenian fixed star associated with the mineral diamond and the plant black hellebore.
