Simulation

Are we in a simulation?

There is an idea that we may be living in a synthetic simulation of existence. One theory (which is often described as more of a thought experiment than a hypothesis) says that if simulating existence through synthetic means can be done utilizing any possible technology at any time, it very, very likely has been done already, due to the nested nature of the pattern that would arise as soon as one baseline reality reached that technological point. In a predictable quirk of probability, under this simulation theory, we are very likely existing in a nested and more primitive state as opposed to being at the baseline level where the simulation technology would first be discovered. In that case, the theory states, we are probably simulated and there are people much like us behind it.

It isn’t like that at all. It’s impossible to simulate human consciousness. It is impossible to synthesize it. It is that special.

What is happening is that the world of matter simulates what would philosophically be called Platonic state existence. It simulates it by rendering it in matter, sort of like a 3D printer renders a computer model. That description is actually not too far off in terms of how dimensions work, and it’s fine to look at things that way.

But we’re real and this is all real.
